Homoeopathy is a powerful system of medicine, and to pursue and practice it, in its true sense, is an art!
When I graduated from college we had learned the basics and fundamentals from our teachers: knowledge of repertories; Materia medica; and the philosophy of The Organon. Despite this, there remained a lacuna between theoretical knowledge and its practical application.
I consider myself truly lucky to have had the opportunity to work under the direct apprenticeship of Dr. Rajan Sankaran. As I saw him practice day in and day out, dealing with many patients, managing follow-ups, acutes, and obtaining such wonderful results, I realized the innate powers of the similimum to touch a patient to that degree which brought about a complete transformation – not only returning the patient to health, but restoring their ability to live in the moment! Each time I would witness this, it further reinforced my faith in Homoeopathy.
At the academy, we have reproduced this experience of direct clinical learning from outstanding Homoeopaths. Dr. Rajan Sankaran, Dr. Jayesh Shah, Dr. Sujit Chatterjee and Dr. Sudhir Baldota lead a whole team of highly experienced teachers. The key reason for The Other Song to come into existence has been to facilitate the transformation of students and practitioners of Homoeopathy into extremely skilled, capable, competent and successful practitioners, and a number of the finest teachers in homeopathy have come together to further this aim.
Our mission is further aided by state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology. The academy is integrated with a full-time clinic which is the backbone of the academy. Our primary learning model is live, case-based practical and clinical training. Every case taken at the clinic is transmitted live to the students in the classrooms. Followed by an in-depth discussion with the teacher, this creates an extremely live atmosphere for learning and sharing. Such a deep learning experience leads to exponential growth for every homeopath who studies at the academy.
We now have plans to expand this umbrella of valuable instruction by introducing local satellite centers in cities around the world, which will teach through the aid of an international video series.
Homoeopathy has given us a lot – now it is time for us to give back. We feel the highest way we can contribute is to transform every Homoeopathy graduate into a confident and highly successful Homoeopath. Through rock-solid confidence in the ability to practice our art, homeopaths will become the best possible ambassadors for this vitally important system of medicine.
